Best Thing I did to stop myself from Comparing & How I get stuff done.

“Admire others beauty without Questioning your own.”
In December I took a break for a while from social media and talked briefly about how it affected me. Instagram can be a great tool also a not so great tool. Don’t get me wrong, I love Instagram & I’m so happy to get the opportunity to share my creativity with the world. But you all know, we all have compared ourselves to someone. Not only that remember the time when you wanted to call someone and you accidentally opened Instagram & scrolled there for hours and hours! Yeah, me too! I can not tell you how many times I’ve checked my Instagram in a day. It’ll probably be over 100 times! It was ridiculous and weird to see how obsessed I was with constantly checking out others pictures & seeing what’s everyone’s up to. “No one’s life is as perfect as their Instagram feed”
After that, I saw a video on Youtube about some Girl Boss activities. And It suggested to turn off your notifications to the apps which distracted you the most. Why didn’t I do that earlier? Like it was there on my phone and I was equally aware of it, but I didn’t. It’s been a few days now. Now I have so fewer distractions from Instagram. I only check the app when I’m reminded of it by my brain. LOL. The notifications were a constant reminder but now that they aren’t there I check it 10-15 times a day. It has definitely reduced my obsession over going and checking everything almost every half an hour! Now I can tell I’m much more focused on what I want to do. This has definitely helped me to compare myself less to other people, also stay away from distractions and concentrate on what I want to do now.
Not just with Instagram, you can do that with all the apps. I just did that because I noticed how overly obsessed I was, now I’m in a much happier place of mind and there’s a LOT less comparison, more of complimenting others & creating amazing content!
What are your obstacles when it comes to comparing or your addiction/obsession towards technology? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this one and we can talk about it in the comments:)
